Polyalphaolefin 4X (PAO 4X) serves as a Group IV base stocks and viscosity builders for a wide range of industrial lubricant products. Applications for PAO 4X base stocks include both automotive and industrial gear oils, bearing lubricants, transmission fluids, turbine oils, compressor oils, circulating oils, hydraulic oils, grease, and other synthetic lubricant oils. PAO 4X gives superior performance in high temperature protection and low temperature fluidity with a high viscosity index (VI). It also has excellent shear stability, low volatility, and excellent resistance to oxidation. These properties make PAO 4X well suited for applications that are subjected to extreme operating conditions, such as cold weather start-ups or high operating temperatures. PAO 4X is colorless, odorless, non-toxic and non-corrosive and do not contain sulfur, nitrogen, or aromatics. PAO 4X can be blended with other synthetic base stocks and are compatible with synthetic esters and alkylated naphthalene.
